DAI Gathers 1,000 Leaders to ‘Reimagine Dallas: Rooted in Dignity, Rising in Hope’

“This is our moment to reimagine Dallas—not as it is, but as its residents want it to be.”

- Pastor Vincent Parker, Lead Pastor of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church

Over 1,000 people representing over 30 congregations and non-profits from across Dallas united to “Reimagine Dallas” in 2026. Dallas Area Interfaith (DAI)’s event marked the culmination of ten months of organizing focused on transforming Dallas through action on immigration, affordable housing, and quality early childhood education.

Leaders shared data and testimonials on the crushing impact of soaring housing and childcare costs, and how their immigrant friends, loved ones, and congregants are under attack. Moving from silence and lament to collective purpose and action, they detailed concrete solutions to these issues, and committed to developing the leadership and constituency necessary to make these solutions a reality.

DAI celebrated their accomplishments from this year - securing a crosswalk and other traffic-calming infrastructure in front of a local school, educating over 1,500 immigrants through "Know Your Rights" workshops, and launching an emergency response initiative and pro bono legal strategy to support families hit by ICE raids.

Leaders also secured commitments from Dallas City Councilmembers, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, and County Commissioners to work with them to advance affordable housing and explore placing a voter-approved children’s fund on the Dallas county ballot.

In pursuit of building a power organization to advocate for the dignity of all citizens, those in attendance committed to attending an upcoming leaders retreat and training, investing in DAI’s Annual Fund, and growing DAI’s membership base.
